New London, Connecticut, a small, seaside city on the Thames River, has a centuries-old history of reinventing itself in response to changing social and economic times.

Through various iterations from its 17th century founding, to its growth as a prosperous center for trade and technology, and to its 21st century identity as a major manufacturing center for the defense industry, the arts have been one of the constants that have held our community together … the glue that has joined generations and genres.

As a community of volunteers who support the arts,
arts NEW LONDON
is our gift to the city, to future generations who might one day wonder about the origin of the vibrant and dynamic arts community that is our New London.
